My Makeup Story Tag

How old were you when you started wearing make-up?

From what i can remember I was about 13 when I started wearing makeup and I believe it was just mascara and lipgloss although I do recall a phase in year 8 when I would wear black kohl eyeliner on my top lash line which I can imagine wasn't very well applied.
When I was very young I remember receiving a huge childrens makeup kit from my parents that had every shade of eyeshadow you could imagine and I would makeover my cousins all the time. I've always been very girly and as a child I loved the idea of playing with makeup and looking like a princess.

How did you get into make-up?

I think I probably got into makeup the same way that most young girls do. My mum has always worn makeup and I most likely got my hands on her makeup bag and went to town applying everything to my face.

What are some of your favourite brands?

I have so many favourite makeup brands that it would be impossible to choose only a couple so I'll list my top 10 current favourites.

MAC, Too Faced, Soap & Glory, Urban Decay, NARS, Makeup Geek, Anastasia Beverly Hills,  Yves Saint Laurent, Benefit, Charlotte Tilbury.

What does make-up mean to you?

Makeup to me is a way of expression and I get excited to delve into my makeup drawer in the morning and decide what products to wear. Wearing makeup gives me confidence and makes me feel happy about my appearance.

If you could only wear 4 products on your face, what would they be?

I'm that girl who likes to go full glam everyday so this question was quite difficult however I've settled for Foundation, Bronzer, Eye Brows, Mascara.
I'd need foundation as it instantly makes my skin look flawless and I could also use it as concealer to hide my horrendous dark circles. Bronzer is essential to warm up my complexion as I'm very pale and dont want to look ghostly. I have very sparse eyebrows so I'd need to fill them in and mascara will just help to open up my eyes.

What is your favourite thing about make-up?
I honestly have a true obsession with buying and trying new makeup and getting ready in the morning is my favourite part of the day because I love getting creative and playing around with my makeup look. I also love that makeup can transform my face, enhance my features and give me so more confidence. I definitely dont feel comfortable enough to leave the house without makeup.

What do you think of Drugstore VS High End make-Up?

Honestly I'd say I prefer high end but I've nothing against drugstore products because I know you can find some great products at a low price in the drugstore. I always gravitate towards high end makeup because you do often get what you pay for.

What is one tip you would give to a beginner?

Makeup is a great way to express yourself and be creative. Not everyone chooses to wear makeup but if it's something you want to do and enjoy, go for it! Remember, practice makes perfect and if you make a mistake you can easily wipe it away and start again. YouTube has played a big part in learning about makeup for me so watching tutorials can improve your skills.

What do you think of the beauty community on YouTube?

I've been watching YouTube videos for years and it's what got me into blogging. I love that there is a place on the internet that you can go to for beauty and makeup advice and I've learnt most of what I know from watching tutorials.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and got to know a little more about me and my makeup story! Leave a comment of why you love makeup and If you have any blog post requests feel free to leave them below.
