Spring Polish Picks

As spring is now upon us for todays post I thought I would share with you all my go-to polish shades for this season. I like to change my nail colour palette as the weather changes so here's a breakdown of my top 5 favourite colours for Spring.

White//

Butter London- Cotton Buds

A white polish is great for enhancing your tan and the Butter London shade in Cotton Buds is a long wearing nail lacquer that I find to be a staple for this season. It applies easily and I find 2/3 coats gives me great Opacity. As this is a nail lacquer it dries quickly which is important for me as there's nothing worse than having to sit around doing nothing while you wait for your nails to dry.

Pink//

Ciate Candy Floss

I think a pink polish is a must have for spring and this particular shade by Ciate is one of my favourites. I received this in their annual christmas calendar last year and whenever I want a pastel pink on my nails this is my go-to. These polishes are highly pigmented and I find two coats to look opaque and they dry quickly which I appreciate. I find the brush on these minis the perfect size for painting the nail without getting in a mess. I would recommend ciate nail paints and especially their advent calendars as they are good value for money.

Orange//
Illamasqua Whack

An orange polish is one I like to pull out when Spring arrives and this Illamasqua shade is a beautiful colour with a glossy creme finish. It applies simply and I would describe the colour as a bright tangerine with a touch of red that catches the eye. Illamasqua have one of my favourite formulas for nail polishes purely for the fact that they are so hard-wearing on the nails and this shade is completely opaque with two smooth coats.

Lilac//

Essie Lilacism

Lilacism is a beautiful pale lavender with a creme finish and the formula is very smooth and easy to apply. You do need to apply three thin coats to get the desired creamy pastel effect however It's worth it because the finish is beautiful. The staying power is fantastic on all Essie Polishes and If you're looking for a Lilac polish I would definitely suggest this one.

Mint Green//

Essie Mint Candy Apple

Essie's Mint Candy Apple is a beautiful pastel mint green shade with an excellent formula. It is opaque in two coats and I do not find it to be streaky. This colour is a cult favourite and with good reason as is is a very flattering colour that stands out. As previously mentioned Essie polishes apply with ease and last well too.

I hope this post gave you some nail polish inspiration. What's your go to spring polish shade? Let me know in the comments below!

My Top 5 High End Nude Lipsticks

I think by now you are all aware that I love a good nude lip so in today's post I wanted to share with you my ultimate favourites. Bare in mind these are my high end favourites, if you'd like to see a drugstore version let me know in the comments. But if you like to know my top 5 high end nude lipsticks carry on reading.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine- 09 Nude in Private
I initially purchased this lipstick as I wanted a sheer and easy-to- wear lip colour and not to the mention I adore the YSL casing on these lipsticks. These 'Volupte Shine' lipsticks are a great option if you want a wash of colour on the lips with an easy application for everyday use. The formula is amazing and it feels smooth and hydrating almost like a lip balm. It also has a fruity scent which I love and on my lips it comes up as a beige/ peachy nude. I would most definitely try more shades from this range as I love this lipstick and would recommend it to everyone.

Nars Audacious Lipstick- Anita
I've mentioned this lipstick a lot and as you all know this is my perfect nude, I honestly cannot rave about this product enough. After trying a Nars Satin lipstick and loving in I wanted to try another Nars lip product and I'd heard many things about this particular shade so i decided to buy it and since then I have never looked back. This is a mid-toned rose with a touch of brown and the formulation of the lipstick is a velvety creamy matte that glides on your lips without being slippery, meaning you know it will last. Even though the lipstick is matte I don't find it the least bit drying. I have several other shades of the audacious lipsticks and they are one of my favourite lip products. The magnetic closure is nice and the packaging is sleek and sophisticated. If you are going to buy one lipstick from this post I would for sure suggest it be this one.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine- 54 Boy

This was my first Chanel product so you could say I bought it just for the pretty packaging (which is partly true) however I adore this lipstick. It's not the most pigmented which I don't mind as I feel when I'm wearing a bold eye look I need an understated nude and this is the perfect lip shade for that. It's a sheer 'your lips but better' shade that has a noticeable wash of colour that just brightens up the face and adds that little bit extra to any look. It's moisturising on the lips and it has a glossy finish, overall I would advise a nude lipstick lover to have this product in their collection as it is a must have for me.

Mac- Velvet Teddy
I couldn't do this post without mentioning at least one Mac lipstick. Velvet Teddy has always been one of my favourite lipsticks and it's very well loved in the blogger community especially and for a good reason as it is a great lipstick. First of all, this lip colour looks beautiful on almost any skin tone and it is a beigey pink colour that I can wear with any makeup look. It looks smooth on the lips and applies easily however after a while I can find it to be a tad drying although that can be overlooked as the lasting power on Mac lipsticks is outstanding. I can wear this product for hours and it still looks the same which I appreciate in a lipstick. All in all I would repurchase this shade over and over again as it is a holy grail product for me.

Charlotte Tilbury- Bitch Perfect

After trying and loving so many of Charlotte's products I wanted to try a lipstick and this particular shade has been mentioned a lot by fellow beauty bloggers so I decided to pick it up. I dont normally like peachy nudes however this lipstick looks beautiful on my fair skin tone. It's a light, but not washed out peach beige with a slight pink undertone to it. The finish is a lovely understated shine. The formula feels comfortable and creamy on the lips and doesnt dry them out. It lasts for a few hours and fades nicely so overall I would recommend this lipstick.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments your favourite nude lipstick because a girl can never have too many, right?

Spring Nails | Floral Nail Art

To any experts out there this may seem like the easiest nail art in the world, but to me (an avid beginner) I found it demanding and actually quite stressful but I love how it turned out. At college I'm studying beauty therapy and in class we are starting our nail art portfolios and this was my first attempt at creating a look.

Equipment:
Colour Matrix French White
Dotting Tool
Tweezers
Gems

I started with a pink coloured base, and then used a large dotting tool to add the white flower petal patterning. I applied a small dot of topcoat into the centre of each flower and using tweezers I placed a gem into the middle of each flower. Then all that was left was to finish with a sealer.

Beauty Wishlist | House of Fraser

I have a huge notes page on my phone full of beauty products I hope to own someday and for today's post I thought I would share with you some of those items.

Nars Blush 'Sin'

After trying 'Orgasm' I have been wanting to try more Nars Blushers for a while and the shade 'Sin' stands out to me as it's a plum colour with gold specs which is something I'm lacking in my makeup collection. The texture of these blushers are silky and blendable so I would love to own more.

Mac Eye Kohl 'Fascinating'

I've wanted to try a white kohl pencil for a while and Macs liners glide onto the waterliner easily and have great pigmentation. The shade of this pencil is a snow white which is the perfect colour to make my eyes pop and look wider and more awake. So I think next payday I will have to pick this up.

Nars Audacious Lipstick 'Barbara'

I've previously spoke about a Nars Audacious Lipstick in my 'Top 5 Discoveries of 2015'. I have one in the shade 'Anita' which is my perfect nude and I absolutely love the formula so I want to try more shades. The formulation of the lipstick is a velvety creamy matte and the shade 'Barbara' looks to be a great shade for my skin tone.

Tom Ford Eye Colour Quads in 'COCOA MIRAGE'

I've been eyeing up these rather expensive quads for a long time and I've heard so many people praise the quality of the shadows. My favourite is 'Cocoa Mirage' as it looks easy to wear for everyday. I would love to own one of these someday so I better start saving!

Dior Airflash Spray Foundation

I'm quite the foundation collector and the idea of a spray foundation is very interesting to me. I've heard many people have mixed opinions on this product however I would love to try it for myself. It's said to give your skin an airbrushed look that lasts all day which sounds perfect for me so in the future I will have to try this out.

Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder

'Baking' your makeup is a trend that has become popular in the beauty blogger world recently and I haven't yet tried it out however this powder is supposedly great for doing so. It believably sets your makeup into place to prevent creasing and leaves you with a matte finish.

Urban Decay Afterglow Blush 'Fetish'

I already own one of these Blushers in the shade 'Rapture' which is a beautiful mauve shade that I wear often so I'd like to expand my collection. These blushers are packaged beautiful and the product itself blends with ease and lasts well on the face. The shade fetish is a medium nude pink that I feel would look pretty on my pale skin.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

This mascara has been out for a while now and I've wanted to try it since I first heard about it. Particularly the packaging looks stunning and from what I've been told it's a great mascara for helping to hold your curl. When searching for a mascara I mainly look for length over volume so this product may work well for me.

I hope this post gave you all some shopping inspiration, what products have you been eyeing up lately?

Lunch Date | Thomas2

While at college my friend and I went to a nearby cafe for Lunch and for an extra post this week I thought I would share with you our experience. We've previously been to this cafe several times and have always enjoyed our meals. The whole atmosphere of the cafe is enjoyable and relaxing and the decor is vintage with a modern spin. The colour scheme is pink, grey and white and there are several pieces of homemade bunting dotted around the cafe. They had a selection of homemade cakes available which looked delicious. The waitress who served us was very friendly and the food tasted and looked beautiful. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were generous.  Overall we really enjoyed our lunch and we will be returning again.

Hope you enjoyed this slightly different post, let me know in the comments below if you'd like to see more posts like this.
