My New Job!

Hi Everyone,

So today's post isn't going to be particularly long however I wanted to share some very exciting news with you!

You may or may not know that I have been working at my current Beauty and Laser Clinic for a year now and have learnt so much in my time with them. It has helped to grow my confidence as a therapist and enabled me to see what areas of the industry I enjoy the most.

I can happily announce that I have started my new job as a full time beauty therapist at Simpsons Beauty Group. My new position at Simpsons is allowing me to focus on Elemis Facials and advance my training in skincare which is something I am extremely passionate about. I love performing relaxing aroma therapy treatments and am so excited to be working in the Simpsons salon surrounded by a team of girls who share the same passion as me. They are a reputable company that perform high quality treatments and I am so excited to learn from the best in the business. They have the most beautiful and calming treatment rooms and I can truly say that I am thoroughly enjoying working for Simpson’s and providing the best service to my clients, in a bliss atmosphere with luxury products.

Perhaps you are looking to train in the beauty industry or have just finished college and are ready to apply for your first job? Although I have only been in the beauty industry for 4 years, perhaps you would like to see a post explaining my journey, interview process and time working as a Beauty Therapist. Let me know in the comments below?

Thank you for reading.

With love,

Relax & Unwind | My Pamper Routine

Hi Everyone,

After a long week at work, every once in a while I like to use my Sunday off to have a bit of a pamper day. I love to unwind, relax and have a bit of 'me' time. If you haven't had a bit of 'me' time recently, I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

To kick off my day of pampering I like to indulge in a delicious breakfast. Whether this be in bed or at the kitchen table, I love to enjoy a homemade waffle, pancakes, muffins, sausages or some fruit. Once I'm feeling well nourished and full I will head into the bathroom and light some scented candles to set the mood and play some of my favourite music. Whilst soaking in the bath I will take the time to perform my full pamper routine of exfoliation, shaving, hair mask, face mask and finish with a body oil or moisturiser. I have always loved the Soap & Glory bath range, especially the Sugar Crush Body Scrub and Body Wash so I will normally use these products during my pamper day.
After my bath I will head into my beauty room to blow dry and straighten my hair and then I will begin my skincare routine.
If you would like to see an updated skincare routine, let me know in the comments below. I have a few stand out/favourite products at the moment that I wanted to share with you, one of those being the Pixi Glow Tonic. This product helps to tone, firm and tighten the skin whilst also removing dead skin cells for healthier looking skin. I am a huge fan of the Ordinary products and I adore their Vitamin C which is a gentle serum that targets uneven skin tone, exfoliates the skin and helps to brighten. I am also really enjoying using the Dr Jart Ceramidin range which are encapsulated with ceramides to keep skin well hydrated for long periods of time.

The next step of my routine is to put on some comfy clothing which will either be pyjamas or leggings and a slouchy top. Once I'm feeling cosy and snuggled the next step is to give my nails a good seeing too. I do have a post on my 'At Home Manicure Routine' if you would like more detail on exactly what I do to maintain my nails. Essentially I will file and smooth the nail, cuticle work, apply a gel polish and finish with hand cream. I like to have matching hands and toes, and if I'm feeling fancy I may even delve into some nail art.

Once I'm all pampered out I will usually get into bed and watch some Netflix or YouTube, with my boyfriend. I take movie snacks very seriously, so for me this is the best time of the day. I will gather as many sweet treats as I can and enjoy my time relaxing at home.

That concludes my Pamper Routine, I would love to know what you do on your Pamper days at home.
Thank you for reading everyone and happy pampering!

With Love,

New Additions | Skincare Haul

Hi Everyone,

I recently went on a crazy skincare shopping spree and treated myself to some new products. I have been using these items for a few days now and I'm very much looking forward to performing my morning and evening routine, trying everything out and seeing what works well together. Today I thought that I would share with you the items that I bought, in case you were interested in trying any of them too. If you would like to hear my thoughts or see a review on any of these skincare products, please let me know.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%

This product is a gentle serum formulated to visibly target uneven skin tone and signs of aging skin. This surface-smoothing serum delivers a concentrated blend of antioxidant-rich Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to the skin, working to reverse and prevent signs of aging by visibly smoothing, brightening, and plumping. L-Ascorbic Acid is the strongest form of Vitamin C, exfoliates skin and works efficiently to slow the ageing process and boost skin health.
The Ordinary Azelic Acid

A lightweight cream-gel, formulated to target dull, marked skin. Dullness, uneven skin tone, acne scars, and lingering blemish marks are targeted by this high (10%) concentration of high-purity Azelaic Acid. The effective antibacterial ingredient gently exfoliates skin to prevent the build-up that clogs pores and causes both blemishes and dull skin.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm

This indulgent concoction dissolves dirt and make up while nourishing skin. It's brilliant for those who're prone to dullness - combatting congestion while boosting skin's dewiness - and when its massaged with your fingertips you'll stimulate the blood-flow to help 'feed' your cells and keep skin feeling 'plump' and looking luminous.

Alpha H Liquid Gold

Alpha-H Liquid Gold is a powerful resurfacing and firming treatment for diminishing wrinkles, pigmentation and sun damage. This multi action formula is enriched with silk proteins, licorice extract and Glycolic Acid. It works to jump start the skin's metabolism, tightening enlarged pores and giving a brighter, clearer complexion. Alpha-H Liquid Gold also makes an effective acne treatment when used in conjunction with other blemish fighting products from the Alpha H range.

Pixi Glow Tonic

This gorgeously glow-giving tonic has received endless praises thanks to its ability to dissolve dead skin, revealing the radiance beneath. Beautifully gentle and soothing, this is a definitive Cult classic which I have been using for years. If you haven't tried this product, its a must have in my opinion.

Pixi Retinol Toner

This potent youth preserving tonic features a unique time-release Retinol to help rejuvenate the skin for a natural glow. Powerful antioxidants and botanicals replenish the skin for a smoother, softer appearance while soothing sensitive skin.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

This is a potent serum designed to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes, pores, and congestion by regulating sebum production. Using two of the most efficient blemish-battling ingredients in an ultra-high concentration formula, this light, fluid serum works to reduce both future breakouts and the appearance of existing blemishes. By controlling sebum production, pores remain clear and decongested from blemish-causing bacteria, ensuring clearer, calmer skin with prolonged use.

The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil

100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil is often described a luxurious treatment for the skin and hair. To be used as a daily support, apply generously over the affected area to hydrate, soften and restore a natural radiance.

The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%

A highly concentrated antioxidant formula, Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% is a powerful treatment for ageing skin. Working to improve the tone and texture of the skin with gentle exfoliation, it's an effective means to treat scars, pigmentation, and dullness, as well as lines and wrinkles. Apply sparingly 2-3 nights a week for a softer, smoother and more radiant complexion.

Dr Jart + Ceramidin Liquid

5-Cera Complex to deliver deep moisture that restores and repairs dry skin. This moisturising toner leaves the skin supple, moisturised and ready to absorb the next products in your regimen.

Dr Jart + Ceramidin Gel Cream

Dr.Jart's Ceramidin Gel Cream is encapsulated with ceramides to keep skin well hydrated for long periods of time. Ceramide enters into every layer of the skin, restores lipids, and supports the skins barrier function to prevent moisture loss. Meanwhile, phytoncide and aloe vera juice soothe and hydrate the skin's surface. Lightweight and cooling, its ideal for soothing damaged and irritated skin from UV rays or for sensitive skin.

Nip & Fab Glycolic Night Pads Extreme

A concentrated acid blend of AHAs and BHAs help to improve the skin's natural exfoliation process and decongest dull skin with one pre-soaked pad. Pores appear more refined and complexion brighter to rival results of an acid peel.

Thank you for reading this post and I hope that you have discovered a new product to add to your skincare routine. I am thoroughly enjoying trying out these products and am happy to write an update after further use. I hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend!

With love,

Life Update

Hi all,

Long time no blog.

My life has been pretty hectic recently which has left my blog neglected. With that being said, I have really missed blogging and sharing my life with you so today I vow to post at least once a month (baby steps right).

I thought I’d welcome you all back with a bit of a life update, since a lot has changed in the last few months.

Where do I begin?

Lets start with my work. I began working as a full time Beauty Therapist last Summer and it's been incredible. I absolutely love what I do and find my chosen career very rewarding. This job has completely boosted my self confidence and I believe that my skills are improving day by day. I’ve trained in many new treatments since starting this job such as; Hopi Ear Candles, Hot Stone Massage, Genie Take 10, Female Waxing and much more. The beauty industry is ever growing and there are always opportunities to grow and learn new treatments, which is another reason I love what I do so much. A part of my role in Clinic as being Assistant Clinic Coordinator allows me to create marketing materials for Social Media, which is a new found love of mine. I very much enjoy the creativity of advertising and have worked hard at creating new treatments and pamper packages for the business.

Just recently I organised a Giving Back Charity Party in support of St Barnabas Lincolnshire. The event was on March 22nd and involved beauty treatments such as Manicures, Facials, Massages and Brow treatments with half the proceeds being donated to the charity. I worked extremely hard creating posters and advertising the event whilst running my busy column in Clinic. I contacted local businesses for raffle prizes and received many kind donations. Overall, the party was a huge success and thanks to all the clients, my friends and family we were able to raise £420 for St Barnabas. This is a great achievement of mine and I am so proud to be supporting such an incredible and deserving charity who I hope to support again in the near future.

The Clinic I work in has been taking votes from clients since September for our ‘Employee of the Year’ award. The ceremony took place in April at Branston Hall. It was a black tie event and we enjoyed a delicious three course meal, sat through an enjoyable presentation by our Manager and I can happily announce that I received the award for ‘Employee of the Year 2019’. I was elated to hear that I had been voted by clients, colleagues and my manager for this award and so pleased to see that all my hard work has paid off. I’ve been working in the industry for a short space of time however I am so excited for the future and to continue this journey learning and improving as a therapist.

Just recently my boyfriend received the news that he got the job for the graduate scheme he applied for and I couldn’t be prouder of him. Soon enough we will be starting our journey into buying our first home together which is something we are both really looking forward to. He is studying International Business at Loughborough University and soon will be sitting his final exams.
We have a holiday booked in July to Greece to celebrate our 2 year Anniversary and his University Graduation. So, you can anticipate that i will have fashion posts coming shortly.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this little update and I can truly say that I have missed writing these posts for you all. Let me know in the comments how you’ve been and if you have any blog post requests as I’m hoping to write more frequently!

With love,
