My Mac Blush Collection

I'm here today to show you my MAC blush collection! These blushers are my absolute favourites and are very well loved in my entire blusher collection.

  • Well Dressed. This was my first blusher by Mac and I discovered it during its  moment on YouTube when all the beauty gurus raved about it. It's a gorgeous light baby pink, that is great if you want a flush of pink on the cheeks.
  • Mocha. This is an extremely realistic, "flushed" looking blush that I would describe as the perfect pink with neutral/slightly mauve undertones.
  • Desert Rose. In my eyes this is a beautiful dusky rose pink that looks neutral without being too overly pink. It's very pigmented and a little goes a long way so there's no need for a heavy hand.
  • Plum Foolery. It's a plum toned blush with a touch of pink and shimmer. I normally like just a flush of colour on my cheeks however I surprisingly love this shade. I do have to be careful not to overdo it because it's highly pigmented.  I adore this in the autumn time especially paired with Twig lipstick.
  • Pinch Me. It’s a medium-toned matte rosy brown. The blush is certainly buildable and easy to apply. Though this is a sheertone blush, it is still quite pigmented.
  • Margin.I would describe this as a sheer shimmery peach blush that goes with every makeup look I do. It gives the skin an effortless glow and it has such a creamy texture.
  • Melba. Melba is a warm peachy colour that is great on every skin tone, it just warms up your complexion beautifully. Since it is a matte finish, it is very pigmented, easily applied and smooth.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my small (but continuously growing) collection of MAC blushers! What's your favourite MAC blush?

Ever since Makeup Geek launched in the UK (all thanks to Beauty Bay), I have assembled quite the collection. I am a huge lover of Beauty Bay and recommend their website to everyone. I have made many orders to collect this amount of eyeshadows and in total i have 69 colours. I store all my Makeup Geek eyeshadows in the Extra Large Z Palettes which I also purchased off Beauty Bay. I havent done swatches purely for the fact it would take me absolutely ages however I'm sure you can find plenty of swatches elsewhere online. With that being said I hope you enjoy this post nonetheless and let me know if you have any of the Makeup Geek eyeshadows, and what are your faves?

Brand Focus | MAC Cosmetics

I began this series on my blog a while back in which I discussed my favourite products from one certain brand. My previous brand focus was on NARS and today I figured I would talk about MAC.
MAC was in fact the first high end brand that I'd ever tried and since then after discovering a variety of other brands its still one of my go-to's. So without further-ado here are my favourite MAC Cosmetics products.

Studio Fix Foundation
I first purchased this foundation 3 years ago and it was in fact my first ever high end makeup item. I have gone through a large handful of bottles of this and I continue to repurchase it over and over again. It's a natural matte finish with great coverage. It works especially well on normal to oily skin and is very long wearing. The only downside to this product is that you have to purchase the pump separately however that can be overlooked because of the fact I love it so much.

Studio Fix Powder
In my opinion this is a classic powder that everyone needs to try at least once. I bought this powder just after the studio fix foundation as they are known for complimenting each other well and it became my everyday powder for years. It makes your skin look flawless and it sets your foundation with an extra layer of coverage. It isn't cakey or drying on the skin and ensures my makeup lasts all day. After using it for 3 years I've only just had to buy my second one which suggests it lasts a long time.

Mineralised Skinfinish in 'Soft & Gentle'
I bought this highlighter just after Mac changed their packaging and it's been a favourite in my collection.  This is a cult classic and one of the oldest highlights on the market. It's a glittery neutral champagne that is very buildable and can go from a light highlight to a full glam glow. When sunlight hits your face, you instantly look fresh and dewy. The compact will last you a long time as a little goes a long way.

Velvet Teddy
I purchased this lipstick around the time of the Kylie Jenner nude lip craze and I have so much love for this lipstick. This is the matte lipstick that will most likely outlive any other nude shade in my collection. Whenever I'm unsure on what colour to put on my lips this shade always compliments the look perfectly. It has a smooth application and i dont find it at all drying on the lips. It's long lasting and as it's more of a subtle colour I feel it wears well throughout the day and fades evenly.

Nylon
I must admit that I haven't tried many MAC eye shadows as I think there are many more eye shadows on the market that offer better quality at a lower price, however nylon is my ultimate favourite for highlighting my inner corner and brow bone. Just recently I've starting using it to highlight my cheekbones and it works beautifully for that too. Its the perfect yellow tone and I honestly could not go a day without using it. If I were to recommend one mac eye shadow to you it would most certainly be this one.

Pigment in 'Blue Brown'
I cannot say enough positive things about this product. This is one of those rare eye-shadow products that deserves way more love than it gets. The colour is absolutely stunning and with MAC fix plus applies smoothly and with an incredible intensity. I would describe the shade as a medium reddish brown with blue duochrome. Because it's so highly pigmented you only need a small amount which means this product will most likely last me a lifetime. I reach for it regularly and always get complimented on my eye makeup whenever I wear it.

Paint Pot in 'Painterly'
I would say I've been using this product for just over a year and I could not live without it now. This shadow is a great primer, base or color to wear alone. I apply it onto the lid and all the way up to the brow bone and it brightens the whole area. The formula is super creamy and I apply it with the Zoeva concealer buffer brush and then set it with my face powder. I'm on my second pot now and can imagine I will continue to repurchase it again and again as I've never found an eye primer i love as much as this one.

Extended Play Mascara
This mascara is absolutely perfect for your bottom lashes as it separates and lengthens. The brush is the perfect size as it is very thin and long which makes it easy to really get into your lashes. It doesn't flake, smudge or get clumpy. I bought this product around 6 months ago and use it almost everyday. It's easy to apply in the morning, lasts all day and is easily removed at night so I would definitely repurchase it.

Thankyou for reading this post, i hope you enjoyed it! What is your ultimate favourite MAC product, let me know in the comments below. And what brand would you like me to focus on next?

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Eyeshadow Collection

Hi everyone, for today's post I thought I would share with you all my ABH eyeshadow collection. I have been planning to do this post for a while now as i thought you might like to see it after I did my Makeup Geek eyeshadow collection (let me know if you'd like an updated one as I have 2 extra large z palettes full).
Anyway, i'm going to keep this post short and sweet although I will begin by telling you how I got my hands on them. As you know, ABH eyeshadows are not readily available in the UK however my boss luckily travels to the states quite regularly so he ever so kindly picked them up for me. I did send him with quite the list so he did well to return with exactly what I asked for! All 26 eyeshadows cost me around £300 so by all means they are NOT the cheapest nonetheless I'd heard great things about them which obviously made me want to try them out for myself.
I've had this palette for about 4 months now and I reach for these eyeshadows daily. They are highly pigmented, buttery in texture, soft and blendable. I chose a variety of warm, natural and cool shades, so I can create a world of looks with this one palette.

My current favourite shades are, red earth, deep plum, fudge and dark chocolate shimmer, as they are shades that I dont already have in my collection. So if i could recommend only 4 shades to you, those would be my top picks. I hope you enjoyed this little post on my Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadows and you found it somewhat helpful. Like i said, if you'd like to see an updated Makeup Geek eyeshadow collection let me know. And, comment below if you've tried ABH eyeshadows and what are your opinions? Thanks for reading :)

Liquid Lipsticks | My Top Picks

Like the rest of the world, I too am a liquid lipstick lover so I figured I would dedicate a blog post to my current favourites. I have a mix of drugstore and higher end lippies here but bear in mind these are very much all nudes as they are my go-to.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip 'Beeper'
When I heard colour pop were now shipping to the UK I had to order myself some goodies and this particular shade of their ultra matte lip colours is my favourite. 'Beeper' is described as a warm mid-toned taupe shade which I find looks beautiful on my pale complexion. The colour is vibrant, long wearing, easy to apply and doesnt flake off. Its extremely well priced, applies smoothly without being streaky or patching and lasts for hours on the lips. If you're looking to try a cheap drugstore liquid lipstick I would most definitely recommend this one.

Nyx Lip Lingerie 'Push Up'
Staying on the drugstore front this is another one of my favourite cheaper liquid lipsticks. Again, when I discovered you could get NYX products in the UK I was very excited to say the least. This was the first liquid lipstick I'd ever purchased and it basically began the whole obsession. I purchased several shades however 'Push Up' has proven to be my most worn. It's moussy texture is comfortable and doesn't dry out my lips, although it must be said that these lipsticks are not the longest wearing however I can get a couple of hours out of them. They are opaque, lightweight and easy to apply. I for sure recommend this lipstick as they have a great selection of shades to suit everyone.

Kat Von D 'Everlasting' liquid lipstick 'Lolita'
The shade 'Lolita' by Kat Von D is probably their best seller which meant I had to stalk the sephora website for weeks to ensure that I got myself a tube of this lipstick goodness. When I finally got my hands on one I was not disappointed. It's described as a dusty rose shade that can be quite drying on the lips however It's still comfortable. These do not transfer, last absolutely hours and fade evenly. Kat Von D is now stocked at Debenhams in the UK so if you havent tried these lipstick before then I suggest you do!

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick 'Im Nude'
Out of all my liquid lipsticks this shade has to be my ultimate favourite. Ever since I bought 2 weeks ago i I dont think I've reached for any other liquid lipstick. It's a light tan shade nude that goes with every makeup look. It's opaque, dries completely matte and I love the packaging and applicator. This lipstick is my most long wearing out of all that I've tried and even stays put after eating.

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost, let me know in the comments below your favourite liquid lipstick.

Artis Oval 8 | First Impression

I've been crushing on the Artis oval brushes for the longest time and I finally bite the bullet and purchased one. It was a tough decision choosing which brush to select however I decided to buy the oval 8 as i wanted to use it specifically for foundation application. I ordered my brush from Space N K for £52 which I thought was outrageously expensive however I've heard that this brush allows you to use less foundation as the bristles dont absorb product therefore I'm saving money in the long run (I'll use any excuse to justify my makeup splurges).

I used this brush alongside the YSL touche eclat foundation and applied 2 small pumps straight onto the brush. My first instinct was to buff the foundation in however they recommend to use it in a swiping motion. The overall appearance and feel of the brush is very luxurious and its bristles are dense yet extremely soft. I found that it distributes foundation very easily and I don't need to go in with my beauty blender to remove any brush strokes. The brush is the perfect size for applying foundation and it makes the process exceptionally fast. I can most definitely see this brush taking over my love for the beauty blender. As of yet I've only found there to be one tiny downside which is that the rubber handle can get dirty so you must ensure to wipe it down to prevent any staining. Other than that I absolutely love this brush and cannot wait to continue using it.

I hope you enjoyed this short but sweet first impression on the Artis Oval 8 brush. Have you tried any Artis brushes, let me know in the comments below?

Updated Evening Skincare Routine | Autumn Edition

Transitioning your skincare from Summer to Autumn is crucial and as I havent done a skincare post in a while I figured I would update you all on my current evening skincare routine. At this time of year moisturising is extremely important, as the weather can dry out our skin therefore i tend to adapt my routine by using more hydrating products. Before I begin, I have a combination skin type of normal/oily, my T Zone is the oilier portion of my face and the rest is normal. I'm especially lucky as i rarely suffer from blemishes however my under eyes can appear dark and puffy at times and I do have fairly sensitive cheeks. If you would like to see my morning skincare routine feel free to leave a comment below, but without further a-do here is my evening skincare routine for Autumn.

Cleanse

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

I truly think that balm cleaners are my favourite of them all as they just feel so luxurious on the skin especially when removing makeup. To do so, I take my damp Emma Hardie cleansing cloth and gather a small amount of the balm in my hands and distribute between my fingertips. I then gently massage the excess onto the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead before going to the eyes with the melted oils on my fingers. I follow by wiping the cloth over my face to remove the product leaving my skin feeling refreshed. I then repeat this step to further cleanse my skin to ensure all the makeup is removed and my face is also fully cleansed.

I've been using this cleanser for a while now and previously used the Emma Hardie cleansing balm which i equally love. This product is great for all skin types, leaves the skin soft and nourished and is gentle. A little goes a long way with this balm so I'm sure I won't be getting through it all in a hurry.

Tone

Pixi Glow Tonic

This product has been a part of my routine for almost a year now and for good reason as I absolutely adore it. It is an exfoliating toner which helps to tighten and firm the skin, it removes any dead skin cells leaving a radiant healthy appearance. To apply this I take a small amount on a cotton pad and wipe it all over the face. Despite it being an acid toner I've had no issues with sensitivity or irritation using this. If you haven't tried this product already then I definitely recommend that you do!

Serum

Sara Chapman Overnight Facial

I love serums! They are such a treat and leave my skin feeling luxurious, soft, radiant and hydrated. I could honestly talk about this product forever although to cut it short, this is an oil with anti-aging properties that helps to refine and repair the skin overnight. I know what you're thinking, a 17 year old trying to fight the signs of aging?...But in my opinion the sooner you start, the better! This is an expensive product and for some, the cost might be prohibitive nonetheless i openly think it's worth it. After the first use of this product the difference in my skin was astonishing, It felt much more plump and smoother. To apply this product I take a small amount in the palms of my hands and take some time to massage it into the skin. It smells great and the texture is heavenly, and allows it to spread over your skin with ease. I be of the opinion that serums are primarily important at this time of year and recommend that you add one to your routine as like i said, they're my favourite skincare product.

Moisturise

Origins GinZing Energy-boosting Moisturizer

I love this moisturiser paired with the serum I just mentioned as they truthfully compliment each other well. This moisturising gel leaves an amazing luminosity the second you put it on which is something i look for especially at this time of year. It's light gel cream texture absorbs quickly and dries matte, and not to mention has a refreshing citrus scent which reminds me of Terry's chocolate orange (one of my favourite chocolates, might I add). I thought I would mention that the ingredients in this product are fantastic, it contains no alcohol which is known to dry out the skin. It's also paraben free and contains a lot of natural ingredients which i appreciate. It isn't overly moisturising which is why I like it paired with the serum, so ladies with drier skin probably wouldn't benefit from this as much however with that being said I for sure recommend this product.

Eye Cream

Benefit 'Its Potent' Eye Cream

I can be very picky with my eye creams as I know exactly what I am looking for in a product. My requirements are to be hydrating enough to plump the undereye area but not to be too greasy that it can contribute to anything like milia. This eye cream fills these requirements for me and I've honestly seen a difference in my under eyes since using this product. It is a tinted gel cream that absorbs right away and it needs to be mentioned that the packaging is adorable. My only con to this product would be that it's in a pot in which you have to dip your finger in, however I can oversee this issue as I love the cream itself.

Lip Balm

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Nourishing Lip Balm

I figured I would mention this balm as I tend to use it everynight before bed. Lip balm is something I always have to apply before going to sleep and this one in particular has been my go-to for a while. It is a dependable lip balm that leaves my lips feeling smooth and moisturised. I like the packaging however the scent is not my favourite, I continue to use this product purely because I like the effect it gives...and that is what you call dedication :)

I hope you enjoyed this post and found it somewhat informative. Like i said, let me know if you'd like to see a morning skincare routine and leave a comment of one skincare product you couldn't live without, as I'd love to know.

Drugstore Favourites

I think it's become pretty clear that I love my luxury makeup products however I do enjoy finding a bargain in the drugstore, so for today's post I'm going to be sharing with you my top drugstore finds.

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
I've tried a fair few drugstore primers in the past and this one is at the top of my list. It's great at smoothing out the skin allowing foundation to glide on top with ease and I dont tend have a problem with silicone primers like this particular one (as i know some people hate silicone primers). I wouldn't necessarily say it prolongs the wear of my makeup however it improves the application due to its smoothing effect and for that I enjoy using it.

Loreal infallible Matte foundation
Similarly I've tried many drugstore foundations and I tend to be quite picky and stick to my beloved high end foundations, although this is the only drugstore foundation that I go back to. It reminds me a lot of the Mac 'Studio Fix' foundation as its matte, long lasting and has fantastic coverage. It has a great formula and provides a great finish for a drugstore product and I like the tube packaging.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
This is probably the most talked about drugstore concealer in the beauty community and for a good reason. First of all, it's ridiculously cheap but the product itself is fantastic too. It can be used under the eyes or on any blemishes as it has great coverage. It creamy, easily blendable and a little goes a long way. My only con would be that the writing on the packaging fades easily but that's not too big of an issue because I really love the product itself.

Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder
This is by far my favourite drugstore powder. It's finely milled and leaves the skin feeling smooth and looking matte whilst also appearing healthy rather than flat like matte powders normally do. I use this powder everyday to set my eye shadow primer and it works wonderfully to ensure my eyeshadows blend well. I would definitely recommend this product if you're in need of a new powder.

Soap and Glory Solar Powder
This is a great bronzer for those of us with fair skin who want a natural bronzed look. This would be the perfect bronzer for somebody who is just starting out with makeup because it's not too overly pigmented which means you cant possibly over do it. It gives your skin a sunkissed look without looking orange or muddy which I really appreciate. Overall I would most definitely recommend this bronzer as it's my favourite from the drugstore.

Milani Baked Blush in "Luminoso"
I could honestly talk about this blush forever and I may even go as far as saying it's my all time favourite blush ever. I reach for this product on a daily basis and tend to gravitate towards it over all of my higher end blushers. It's a flattering warm coral shade that goes with every look and gives the skin a radiant and beautiful glow. It has finely milled shimmer which doesnt look too glittery on the skin and I honestly think this blush would suit everyone. If you're going to buy one item from this post I suggest it be this product because I absolutely cannot live without it.

Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in 'Pink Bronze'
One thing I really think the drugstore are lacking is a killer highlighter and I must admit I reach for my higher end ones more often, however out of all my drugstore highlighters this would be my favourite. It has good pigmentation and leaves your cheeks looking radiant and glowing. Its very well priced and the individual colours can be used as eyeshadows too.

Soap & Glory Brow Archery in 'Brownie Points'
This is hands down the best brow product I have tried from the drugstore. Everything down to the shade, ease of application and pigmentation is perfect. I have very sparse and fair eyebrows and this enables me to create a defined yet natural brow. It easy to blend and create that perfect shape and the packaging is great also. Overall I advise that you try this product out if you haven't already as it is truly amazing.

Nyx Tame & Frame Brow Pomade
There aren't many appreciable brow products in the drugstore that I've found personally nonetheless this Nyx brow pomade is for sure one to try. It's said to be similar to the Anastasia brow pomade which i neither agree or disagree with. It's buildable, long lasting, well priced and easy to apply. This paired with the Soap & Glory brow archery set you up for killer brows.

Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Shade Matte Eyeshadow Palette
Another thing I think the drugstore are lacking is high quality/ pigmented eyeshadows especially with a wide range of colours. This is a wonderful neutral eyeshadow palette at a low price. They have superb pigmentation, blend with ease, and last well all day. If you're looking for eyeshadow palettes in the drugstore makeup revolution have a great selection.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
I have very short lashes so I find it difficult to seek the perfect mascara that can lengthen and volumize my lashes however this is an impressive drugstore mascara. It separates and add lengths to my lashes without appearing clumpy. It doesnt flake off throughout the day or transfer and it's removed effortlessly. This is definitely a drugstore mascara you need to try!

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in 'Eastend Snob'
This is one of the creamiest lipliners Ive ever used and it's from the drugstore! I must admit I'm a huge fan of the Mac Lip liners but these rimmel liners are just as good and for a fraction of the price. It's a natural pink shade that goes on smoothly without dragging the lips. It enhances the shape of my lips well without drying them out or feeling uncomfortable. This is undoubtedly a must have product.

Nyx Lip Lingerie in 'Push Up'
When it comes to lipstick I'm for sure a high end girl although this product has soon become a favourite. I really enjoy wearing liquid lipsticks although I cannot stand one that too drying. This product doesnt dry my lips out in the slightest and it doesnt flake or go patchy throughout the day. My favourite is the shade 'Push Up' which is the perfect pinky nude. As a whole I fully recommend Nyx lip products as they are fantastic and wonderfully priced.

That concludes my Drugstore favourites, I hope you enjoyed this post and found it somewhat helpful. Let me know in the comments your favourite drugstore product!

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops

Im sure you've all figured out by now that I'm quite the fan of the blinding highlight look however for some reason I felt as though I've been missing a certain product that could provide a natural/dewy highlight that allowed my skin to look simply glowing from within. As soon as I discovered this product through YouTube I knew it was exactly what I'd been looking for so I went ahead and purchased the shade 'Celestial' on SpaceNK.com.

This a liquid dry oil formula that is presented in a glass bottle with a pipette dispenser.I really enjoy this product as you can create either a subtle or blinding highlight that doesnt appear to glittery or overdone. These drops are very buildable therefore the more drops you apply the more luminosity you will get. My prefered method of application is with a dampened beauty blender as i find it blends the product beautifully onto the skin. It looks smooth and radiant and can be built up into a full opaque metallic shine.

This is an extremely versatile product that can be used in various ways such as;  mixed with moisturiser, added into foundation, placed under powder highlight and even as a liquid eyeshadow. It truly works wonders with all those methods and for that I am very pleased to own it. I would 100% recommend this product if you also enjoy a beaming glow and want to try something a little different.

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments If you've tried these innovative highlighters.

My 17th Birthday Wishlist

As my 17th Birthday is soon approaching I thought i would put together a wishlist of items that I'd be overjoyed to receive this year. I would like to mention that I do not expect to receive all of these items, I'd be extremely happy with just one but I thought I'd create this little list nonetheless as personally I love to read these types of posts.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Collection & Swatches

I've finally completed my Z palette full of Makeup Geek eyeshadows so today I thought I would share it with you. My palette contains various colours rather than just being a neutral or brights palette and in total i have 34 shadows which are a mix of mattes, shimmers and foils. The individual eyeshadow pans go for £4.95 each and the foiled eyeshadows are £7.95. I find the quality of the Makeup Geek eyeshadows to be outstanding especially for the price point and I wouldn't be surprised if soon enough I have created another full palette of these eyeshadows. For the past couple of months I've found myself gravitating towards this palette the most as they are highly pigmented and creamy in texture. So without further-a-do let's get into the swatches.
